Welcome to the Department of Marketing in the College of Business. Our department offers students the opportunity to major or minor in marketing, as well as the option to earn a Ph.D. with an emphasis in marketing.

Marketing monitors and investigates the changing needs of commerce and promotion and creates products and services designed to meet those needs. Marketing involves sales, advertising, promotion, retail management, marketing research, pricing, physical distribution, new product introduction, branding, international business, and e-commerce.

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Babu John Mariadoss who has won the 2008 Doctoral Dissertation Award of the American Marketing Association’s Selling and Sales Management Special Interest Group

The department bids farewell to two faculty: Professor Don Stem is retiring from WSU and the department after 30 years of service; Assistant Professor Kristine Ehrich is leaving for an Assistant Professor position at the University of San Diego

Ph.D. graduates Trent Wachner and Sanjay Sisodiya are heading out for assistant professor positions at Creighton University in Omaha and the University of Idaho, respectively

New Ph.D. student coming in the fall is Mark Mulder from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma

Marketing Club students won two Cougar Pride Days 2008 awards: President Lindsay Radford received the Queen of the Hill Award for being the hardest working individual female student during CP Days; the club won a President’s Award for student clubs.  Way to go, Marketing Club!
