Certification requirements

On the Pullman campus, certifying as a business major is competitive and course enrollments are limited.  Pullman campus students are required to apply on-line to be considered for certification.  If the applicant meets the minimum requirements to certify, they are then ranked by academic performance to fill the current quota.

Complete the following certification courses with an average GPA of 2.5 or higher: Acctg 230, 231; BLaw 210; MgtOp 215; EconS 101, 102; Engl 101or Engl 105; Math 201, 202*; and MIS 250;

• Have a cumulative WSU GPA of at least 2.5; and
• Have earned at least 60 semester credit hours. 
• Students will then be placed in rank order based on cumulative GPA and other performance criteria. The top students are then certified based on the number of spots available that semester.
  
  *HBM majors may take Math 205 in lieu of Math 202

Transfer course grades will be used to calculate the certification GPA, but they are not included in the WSU cumulative GPA.
