Will classes still be available after I certify since many other students have already registered for the semester?
Yes, with an application process, core business classes will be assigned to those students who are accepted.
What if I just need to take one class to qualify for certification?
If you have not completed all your certification requirements by the end of the current semester, you must wait until the next open application period to apply.
I am not sure what I want to major in. Do I have to pick one now?
Yes, you will be asked to choose your top 2 choices on the application. Enrollment in business classes is limited within each major.
What if I do not get my first choice of major?
Space in some majors will be limited and the applications process is competitive. We cannot guarantee that all students will get their first choice of major. This is why we ask for your second choice of major on the application.
What if I want to change my major or minor after I am accepted?
You may be able to change your major or minor after you have been certified if there is space available at the time you request the change. Contact your new advisor.
May I apply at times other than spring?
Yes, you may apply during open application period, fall, spring and summer semesters.
After I have applied, how and when will I know whether or not been I've been accepted?
You will be officially notified via an announcement to your my.wsu.edu account.
If I am not accepted, may I reapply?
You may apply at any open application period. We highly recommend that you to speak to your advisor, as this may delay your graduation and there may be other options for you to consider.
I am a transfer student. What if I have not completed all of my required courses by the application deadline?
You must complete your classes by the end of the application period in order for your application to be considered. or you will need to apply during the next application period. You will be responsible to submit documentation to the College of Business. We will accept unofficial documentation from your school if up-to-date transcripts are not available in time.
I want to double major in business. Is that allowed?
Contact your current advisor to request a second major.
I am a graduate student. Do I use this application?
No. The application is for undergraduate degrees in business.
How are students selected?
Students who meet all certification requirements will be ranked according to their academic performance. We will certify the number of students for whom we have available spots from that ranking list.
