Recruiting and Networking Opportunities
Participate in mock interviews
Mock interviews with actual company representatives are among the most popular activities at the Carson Center. These interviews represent a valuable opportunity for students to polish their interview skills and learn more about a particular company or industry. Participating in mock interviews also enables employers to identify candidates they might want to interview for real positions.
Conduct resume critiques
Students benefit greatly from one-on-one resume critiques with industry professionals. They appreciate the feedback and value the advice to make their resumes cutting edge. The labor market is competitive and students want to put their best foot forward.
Host company presentations
Make company presentations to introduce your organization and build student interest in available employment opportunities.
Meet with students
Schedule a visit with particular groups of students, whether at club meetings or in the classroom. This opportunity is available on an as-needed basis and is coordinated with club leaders and department chairs/faculty each semester. Feel free to contact the club leaders/advisors or the academic department directly.
See a list of student clubs and organizations here.
Present professional development workshops
Employers are welcome to conduct professional development workshops for students. The topics could include, but are not limited to, resume preparation, interview strategies, professional dress, industry trends, internship/job search, business ethics and business etiquette.
Meet with Carson Center staff
The Carson Center staff is happy to welcome company representatives and alumni to the Center to discuss opportunities for networking and involvement with our students. We would love to give a tour of the Center and introduce our events, activities, and programs.
Hire company campus ambassadors
Many companies and organizations find it beneficial to hire students as ambassadors to serve as a liaison between the company and students on campus. These ambassadors speak to students and clubs, host company workshops, recruit students for interviews, represent companies at career fairs, and raise awareness about the company on campus.
Provide scholarships and support
Establishing scholarships or supporting College of Business programs enable organizations to gain recognition and build a valuable association with Washington State University
while positively impacting students’ college experiences.
Participate in the Career Networking Fair
Introduce your company at this event where you can network with or recruit talented business students.
