Washington State University Ranks 18th in Nation for Entrepreneurship (09.10.08)
PULLMAN, Wash. – From over 2,300 schools surveyed by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, Washington State University was distinguished as having one of the top 50 entrepreneurship programs. Washington Housing Market Continues Skid; Affordability Marginally Better (08.14.08)
PULLMAN, Wash. – The late spring/early summer period is typically the busiest part of the year for the residential housing industry, but the sluggish market affecting home sales throughout the country was also reflected in Washington State, according to statistics prepared by the Washington Center for Real Estate Research at Washington State University. Homes sold during the second quarter at an annual rate of 89,380 units statewide, sliding 8.5 percent below the sales rate in the first quarter and 31.7 percent below the same time last year. “Buyers see and hear stories about the collapse of the national housing market everywhere, and that makes them afraid to move forward with a purchase, especially as they are confronted with weaker job markets and surging prices for gasoline and food,” noted Glenn Crellin, WCRER director. PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University College of Business has announced that Morag Stewart, Ph.D., has joined the college as the director of the newly-launched Executive MBA program in Spokane. Silent Auction Boosts WSU Wine Business Management Program (06.17.08)
PULLMAN, Wash. – The College of Business at Washington State University participated in Taste Washington on June 8 at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Wash., where they hosted a silent auction for participants at the 7th annual wine and food tasting event. The auction included 45 wine- and tourism-related items and brought in more than $6,700, which will benefit the School of Hospitality Business Management’s new major, Wine Business Management. PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University College of Business has signed an agreement for a new center at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) in Chengdu, China, as part of its ongoing vision to enhance the college’s international presence. WSU Business Plan Competition Awards $100,000; Adds High School Competition and Global Teams (04.15.08)
PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies in the College of Business, took place in Pullman April 11-12. The two-day event included more than 100 competitors in four divisions, including two WSU divisions, and high school and non-student divisions. For the first time winning teams from the inaugural College of Business Global Business Plan Competition competed in the competition. More than 45 teams presented their plans to a panel of judges from the business community, with the winning teams sharing cash and prizes totaling $100,000. [more...]
